Informed by the ancient Japanese aesthetic of wabi sabi, Seville celebrates the beauty of imperfection. Hand-painted canvas is covered with irregular sections of burlap, its rough fringe exposed. Turning simple raw materials into something precious and archival, the surface is finished with a dry-brushing technique, revealing rich tonal variations and lending visual dimension to the muted palette.
